At the Museum of the Gorge you can view a 12 metre scale model of the Gorge as it was in 1796.
The Museum of the Gorge provides an excellent introduction to the valley and its attractions. The museum building was originally a somewhat gothic riverside warehouse where the fine porcelain goods from the Coalbrookdale company began there journey to the rest of the world.
The museum houses an impressive 40ft scale model of the town, as it was in 1796 and you can use the latest interactive computer technology to discover the environmental effects the years of industry have had on the Gorge. The Museum of the Gorge is the ideal place to learn about the history of the Severn and it offers its visitors hands-on experiences.
For group visits contact the group visits officer on 01952 435900.

From junction 6 on the M54 take the A5223 south towards Ironbridge. Follow the road to the roundabout and turn left. The Museum of the Gorge is on the right.
