National recognition for The Old Rectory (3rd January 2012)

National recognition for The Old Rectory

The Old Rectory Hotel in Wem, North Shropshire has increased its percentage rating in two awards from Visit Britain, the national tourism agency.

The Old Rectory Hotel in Wem originally gained the 3-Star accolades several years ago and received a recent visit from a ‘mystery guest’ hotel inspector, who assessed everything from the initial phone call booking, through ambience, catering and accommodation provided.

Following the visit the inspector increased the hotel’s overall rating in customer service, satisfaction and breakfasts.

Hotel manager Selina Cuss commented: “The inspector expects a certain standard of service which we easily achieved, only revealing their identity to us in the morning after settling their account.

“We were classed as excellent for our menu, hospitality and service and our breakfasts received a special mention as we always provide home made marmalades and jams, together with a health conscious version, all of which use local produce.

“To be recognised in all departments is true testament to the staff and whole team here at the Old Rectory and I am delighted to share these awards with them.”
