Gardener, Paul Watkins, delights in early snowdrop find at the Dorothy Clive Garden

Gardener, Paul Watkins, has spotted the first, and very early, carpet of snowdrops in the woodland quarry at the Dorothy Clive Garden.

Paul Watkins said, ‘I was delighted to see such a wonderful carpet of snowdrops at such an early stage of the year. I always feel a great sense of joy at finding the snow drop each year but I usually have to wait a little longer. This year, we have been blessed with an abundance of them and we hope that it is a sign that spring is on its way.’

The garden will be opening on weekends during February and March 2012, for fund raising event weekends, between 10.00am and 4.00pm.

Visitors will be able to delight in the intimate and informal gardens set amidst glorious countryside and enjoy the early flowering shrubs, evergreens and snowdrops.

The garden will be open from 10.00am until 4.00pm and the entrance fee will be at the discounted rate of £3.00. The garden tea room, which is situated in the heart of the garden, will also be open and a selection of delicious seasonal soups, homemade scones and hot drinks will be available to purchase.
