Four-star hotel invests to double spa capacity (29th March 2012)

THE Hill Valley Spa, Hotel and Golf is undergoing a £400,000 renovation which will double the capacity of its spa and introduce a new treatment.

The investment at the luxurious four-star hotel in Whitchurch – part of the prestigious Macdonald Hotels & Resorts Group – will see the number of treatment rooms increase from four to eight.

It will also become one of only a handful of hotels in the north west to offer the Rasul treatment – a traditional Arabian cleansing ritual which sees visitors covered in different types of mud for different areas of the body, before steam is pumped into the room and then a tropical rain shower sprinkles down from the ceiling which is covered in tiny ‘stars’ .

“Our spa is extremely popular with local people coming for individual treatments as well as people coming from further away for spa weekends or to take advantage of the various packages we offer,” said General Manager Terence Southward.

“The Vital Health and Wellbeing Club has been a huge success since its introduction four years ago, so now is the perfect time for us to enhance our facilities.

“This investment will have a lasting impact on the hotel and give our guests an even better spa experience.”

The renovation also includes a new spa café and a link corridor from the hotel to the spa and leisure facilities which include a 20-metre heated indoor swimming pool, state-of-the-art gym and thermal suite.

Work began on the spa this month and is due to finish at the end of May.
