THE DOROTHY CLIVE GARDEN MAKES AN APPEAL FOR DONATED ITEMS FOR CHARITY GIFT SHOP'S 'CURIOSITY CORNER' (4th May 2012)

The Dorothy Clive Garden - a charitable garden trust - is making an urgent appeal for gift items to be donated for ‘Curiosity Corner’ - an area within the gift shop selling pre-loved items donated by the general public and which helps to fund the upkeep of the garden.

Hazel Turner, the gift shop Manager said, ‘We are always looking for new and creative ways to raise money for the Dorothy Clive Garden which is a charitable garden trust. Curiosity Corner situated within our garden gift shop, includes items for sale such as Royal Dalton figurines, Garden Books, Wedgwood Jewellery and many other quality items.’

The garden, originally a disused gravel quarry, was transformed by Colonel Clive into a woodland garden for his wife Dorothy, who was suffering from Parkinson’s disease. The charity was then set up in 1958 by Colonel Harry Clive as a place of rest and recreation and continued horticultural education for the general public and as a place of memorial to Dorothy.

If you have any pre-loved items which you would like to donate to the Dorothy Clive Garden, please contact the Gift Shop Manager, Hazel Turner,  on 01630 647237 or email info@dorothyclivegarden.co.uk.
