The Laburnum Arch is now in full bloom at the Dorothy Clive Garden (28th May 2012)

The Laburnum Arch is now in full bloom at the Dorothy Clive Garden

Visitors can now come and see the famous Laburnum Arch which is currently in full bloom at the Dorothy Clive Garden on the North Staffordshire/Shropshire/Cheshire border.

The glorious golden tunnel is adorned with vibrant yellow pea flowers and under planted with rows of alliums and lonicera balls.
Curator, Marcus Chilton-Jones, said, ‘The laburnum Arch - located near the gravel garden - comes as a surprise to the visitor as they explore the intimate and informal pathways leading up to it. The 25m long tunnel which is covered in the laburnum flowers commonly known as golden chain, invites the eye towards a tranquil seated area with a sculpted stone seat and bird bath. Visitors can relax here and enjoy the peace of the garden.’

Visitors and members can delight in the intimate and informal gardens set amidst glorious countryside seven days a week, from 10am to 5.30pm.

The garden tea room, which is situated in the heart of the garden, will be open from 11pm to 5pm daily, selling a selection of refreshments including delicious seasonal soups, homemade scones, light lunch snacks and various hot and cold drinks..
