Shrewsbury Market Hall will play host to a one-off poetry event next week. Fans of the spoken word can enjoy an afternoon of verse at the Bird’s Nest Cafe on August 25 from 12pm until 3pm.
The event will feature two award winning poets, Troubadour 2009 winner, Barry Tench, from Shrewsbury and former poet laureate for Birmingham, Roy McFarlane, as well as more local talent.
Organiser Josh Arrowsmith said: “We often have live music at the Bird's Nest on a Saturday but this time we're taking a strictly verbal approach to give you something a little different! The event will run from approximately 12-3pm but we always recommend getting here early to ensure the best seats. All are welcome and as always should be a lovely day out for the family.”
