The Dorothy Clive Garden will be hosting the popular Plant Hunters’ Fair on Sunday 26th and Monday 27th August 2012. This special fund raising event, which is now in its fourth year, will feature fifteen specialist nurseries with a national standing as well as small local plant growers.

On Monday 27th only, a special drop-in plant clinic will take place with well known plant health expert Dr Steve Reynolds. Plant expert, Dr Steve Reynolds, will be available at the plant fair to help diagnose and solve your flower, fruit and veg problems. Just pop in to see him with a sample, photo or description of the bug, leaf, fruit etc.

All plant lovers will find something for their gardens whatever the aspect. Nursery stalls attending will have on display alpines, late flowering perennials, herbs, trees, shrubs and offer a wealth of information and advice for your garden.

Deputy Curator, Margaret Barry, said 'August is an excellent time to visit the garden with our seasonal tropical borders awash with colour, vibrancy and ideas to take home. A riot of colour is provided by plants such as crocosmia, salvias, dahlias, cannas and echinacea, This special fund raising event will further help us in our core mission of providing a beautiful place of rest and recreation for the general public'.

Admission to the special fund raising event and garden will be £3.00 per person. Children from 0-5 are admitted for free and children between years 6-18 are admitted for £1.00.

The garden tea room, which is situated in the heart of the garden, will be serving breakfast from 10am followed by sandwiches, homemade soup, freshly bakes scones and cake throughout the day.

There will also be a special garden and nature photography exhibition in the garden Pavilion on Sunday 26th August 2012 from 10am to 4pm, which visitors will be admitted to for free.
