Gardens and May Day Celebrations at Dudmaston Hall (30th April 2013)

Gardens and May Day Celebrations at Dudmaston Hall

Dudmaston Hall will once again be helping to support the National Garden Scheme on Saturday 4th May 2013 as they hold an open gardens event for the National Charity.

Sir George Labouchere was a keen supporter of the National Garden Scheme, beginning the link with Dudmaston over 40 years ago and the property is keen to continue his legacy by donating all the entry fees from visitors on the day to the scheme.

Dudmaston is predominantly a Spring garden and as the weather conditions have now began to improve the garden is really starting to come to life so it is a fantastic time to visit.  Gardener in Charge, Guy Lory said “the garden has been late in coming into flower this season but now the daffodils and tulips are in full bloom and the magnolias and rhododendrons are just starting to burst into life. Dudmaston is very special at this time of the year and it is a wonderful sight to see Spring finally arriving.”

Visitors will be able to take the opportunity to take a wonderful stroll around the gardens, and then return to the tearoom to relax. The shop, which has some fantastic new ranges for 2013, will also be open and visitors will have the opportunity to choose a plant to take home for their own garden.

May Day celebrations will also be taking place on the property as The Wayfarers Folk Dance Club will be performing at the property on Bank Holiday Monday and everyone is invited to come and join them in finally welcoming in the Spring.

Gates to the property open at midday so why not take the opportunity to come and visit this wonderful stately home with your family and relax for the Bank Holiday weekend.
