Live cooking demos for fish loving foodies: Cosford Food Festival 27-28 July 2013 (3rd June 2013)

Live cooking demos for fish loving foodies: Cosford Food Festival 27-28 July 2013

With only two months to go until the first ever Cosford Food Festival, organisers are lining up some amazing live talks and hands on demonstrations for visitors. With a jam packed programme of demonstrations over the festival weekend, visitors can learn from the experts how to prepare, cook and present an array of exquisite specialities, before sampling some of the culinary delights available.

Already signed up is Shropshire based company FionaOnFish. Fish loving foodies will adore the fabulous demonstrations run by Fiona Asson, founder of the successful Shropshire company Fish In A Box.  This new business venture is all about fine dining on fish, with an alternative menu offered to non-fish eaters! Fiona will be running live demonstrations for visitors both days, offering tips and advice on how to serve up the perfect fish dish.

Fiona Asson, FionaOnFish says:
“After 8 years at Fish In A Box I decided it was time to bring together my love of fish and cooking by starting a new venture in FionaOnFish. I am continuing the successful Fish Cookery Courses I started with Fish In A Box, and adding a ‘Secret Supper Club’ to the business. Secret Supper Clubs started in London, providing a fine dining experience in private houses or pop up restaurants and are now very popular across the country. Mine will of course be about fine dining on fish.  I hope to offer something a little more exciting than fishcakes and the fish in sauces currently on offer!”

The Cosford Food Festival is bringing together some of the finest food and drink suppliers from across the West Midlands and combining them with a world class collection of aircraft and exhibits.  With plenty to keep the whole family entertained over the weekend, visitors to the attraction are sure to enjoy the festival.

Event Organiser Abi Dakin, of Dakin Events said:
“Visitors can also look forward to demonstrations and tasters from our fantastic range of stall holders. Monkhide, who have won many prestigious awards including; ‘Best Liqueur’ at the ‘National Fruit Wine Awards’; many ‘Great Taste Awards’ and two ‘Flavours of Herefordshire Awards’, will be treating audiences to a cocktail demo and taster session.  Plus, award winning Chocolatier Julia Wenlock, will be talking all things chocolate on the Sunday.  Julia is passionate about producing the freshest tasting chocolates using a selection of locally produced and sourced ingredients and delicious high quality chocolate from around the world.”

Michelle Morgans, RAF Museum Cosford Public Relations Executive says:
“Mixing a food festival with an aviation museum may seem like an unusual combination.  By combining exquisite foods and drinks with an award winning Museum, it makes for the perfect balance of indulgence and entertainment from start to finish.”

The Cosford Food Festival will run from 10am to 5pm on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July.  Admission is just £5 per adult which includes a free Cosford Food Festival programme containing everything you need to know about what’s going on over the weekend and where to find everyone using the exhibitor map.

Visitors to the food festival will also have access to the RAF Museum which is home to the unique TSR2, the world’s oldest Spitfire and the mighty Vulcan bomber to name but a few.  Exhibitor spaces are filling up fast.  Any businesses interested in exhibiting at the Cosford Food Festival should contact Abi Dakin by email: abigail@dakinevents.com.  For more information on the event please visit the Museum website www.rafmuseum.org or call 01902 376200.
