Meet the animals living at Blists Hill Victorian Town on Saturday 20th July

Discover more about the many animals living at Blists Hill Victorian Town in Shropshire's Ironbridge Gorge on Saturday, 20th July 2013. Chat to their keepers, watch the horses being harnessed, meet the pigs and see the chickens in their enclosure behind the New Inn.

A highlight will be a special talk about the horses and their care outside the printer’s workshop by their keeper; afterwards you can ask questions about these fascinating animals. Then join with the residents and take a ride around the town in the horse-drawn open carriage.

This special Meet the Animals event is part of Blists Hill Victorian Town’s 40th anniversary celebrations. It demonstrates the important role played by horses and other animals in daily life over a hundred years ago.

Open 10am until 5pm, Blists Hill is one of the ten Ironbridge Gorge Museums. A great value Annual Passport Ticket allowing daytime entry into all the museums, valid for twelve months and unlimited return visits, costs £24 per adult, £19 for the 60 plus, £15.25 for students and children and £65 for a family of two adults and all their children aged up to 18 years in full time education (terms and conditions apply); under 5s free. Activities and workshops vary day-to-day and some carry an extra charge in addition to the admission fee. Individual museum entry tickets are also available.

For further information Tel: 01952 433 424 or visit www.ironbridge.org.uk.  The Gorge is easily reached via the M6 and M54 motorways exiting at Telford (M54 junction 4 or 6).
