Come dressed up and join the Hatter at his Mad Tea Party at Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland: Blists Hill Victorian Town: 24th - 26th August 2013 (18th June 2013)

Come dressed as Alice in Wonderland or another character from the much-loved book and go along to Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge, which will be hosting a themed event over the summer bank holiday weekend of 24th - 26th August based on the Victorian novel by Lewis Carroll. The book tells the story of seven-and-half-year-old Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world. The special Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland event is part of Blists Hill’s 40th anniversary celebrations.

Take part in the Hatter’s Mad Tea Party, join the Queen of Hearts for a game of croquet and follow a clue-led trail around the town to find the Cheshire Cat. Then watch cameo mimes and scenes from the book performed by costumed characters from the Kaleidoscope and Sundial theatre groups. There will also be hands-on activities for youngsters such as colouring Alice themed illustrations.

There will be a competition to find the best dressed person in a costume from the book.  The judging will take place at the Tea Party and the prize will be a portrait by the Town’s photographer.

Open 10am until 5pm, Blists Hill is one of the ten Ironbridge Gorge Museums. A great value Annual Passport Ticket allowing daytime entry into all the museums, valid for twelve months and unlimited return visits, costs £24 per adult, £19 for the 60 plus, £15.25 for students and children and £65 for a family of two adults and all their children aged up to 18 years in full time education (terms and conditions apply); under 5s free. Activities and workshops vary day-to-day and some carry an extra charge in addition to the admission fee. Individual museum entry tickets are also available.
