THE DOROTHY CLIVE GARDEN IS TO HOST A TEDDY BEARS' PICNIC ON SUNDAY 1st SEPTEMBER 2013 AND ALSO AN ARTS AND CRAFT EXHIBITION (27th August 2013)

The Dorothy Clive Garden is hosting ‘A Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ for both children and adults on Sunday 1st September 2013. The special fundraising event will start at 11am and continue until 5pm and all children who bring a Teddy Bear are admitted for free. Accompanying adults will be admitted at the special fundraising price of £3.50.

There will be activities such as a ‘Best Dressed Teddy’ competition, a Teddy Bear Hospital - where you can bring your teddy along for a check up, Teddy trail around the garden, Teddy Bear story-telling, face painting, a craft corner with colouring, tombola, ‘Guess the name of the Teddy’ and picnics for children with Teddy shaped sandwiches and biscuits.

The Friends of the Willougbridge Garden Trust – a fundraising group for the garden - will also be hosting an arts and craft exhibition in the Bryan Mayer Pavilion on both Saturday 31st and Sunday 1st, to celebrate 40 years of supporting the garden and also to showcase their many talents. There will be paintings, ceramics, tapestry, woodwork and Chinese brush painting. The exhibition is free.

Children’s giant garden games are also available and a play area for children has also been developed at the back of the garden tea room, including a robust ‘buzz tower’ with rock climber, log ramp and slide and soft rubber mulch flooring which 100% recycled and toy safe.

Visitors can also delight in the intimate and informal gardens set amidst glorious countryside with seasonal plant delights such as crocosmia, daylilies and heliopsis and various other herbaceous plants.
