Take Mum to Dudmaston for art, flowers, heritage and more (25th March 2014)

The National Trust's Dudmaston Estate are looking forward to welcoming some very special Mums this Sunday 30th March 2014, as they celebrate Mothering Sunday at the property.

Families will have the opportunity to relax and have fun together with activities to keep the whole family entertained including a self-led trail through the gardens which are just beginning to come to life with some beautiful spring flowers.

The galleries in the Hall will be open where everyone can not only enjoy the art collected by Sir George and Rachel, Lady Labouchere on their diplomatic travels but a trip to the Old Kitchen will give the opportunity for everyone to create their own inspirational art on our wall collage. Families will also be given the opportunity to delve into family life at Dudmaston as they discover the stories of Captain Geoffrey’s service during WWI and stories of home as the effects of the war were felt on the estate.

There will be plenty of opportunities to treat Mum. Children can make an everlasting bouquet of Spring flowers, the shop has some fantastic ranges for ladies with offers on selected bags and scarfs and the tearoom will be serving delicious treats for everyone including their new gluten free range.

Visitor Services and Conservation Manager, Tessa Lovell said “Mothering Sunday is always a special day in our calendar and we love to see families bringing Mum to us for her special treat. We have lots on offer this year to ensure that families have a really memorable day, with something for the adults and children alike that they can all enjoy together.”
