Apley Jousting Fair's second year - bigger & better! (10th April 2014)

Apley Jousting Fair's second year - bigger & better!

The Apley Jousting Fair will be held for the second year running at a farm shop near Bridgnorth on Saturday 3rd May 2014. The Fair builds on the success of the 2013 event when over 2500 people attended, enjoying fantastic family entertainment, great activities & delicious food.

“We are delighted to be able to hold the Jousting event again this year” commented Lord Gavin Hamilton, Apley Farm Shop owner. “Once again the star of the show will be Britain’s premier Medieval Jousting stunt team, the Knights of the Damned from Bridgnorth, who will be performing the Knight’s Tale, a colourful spectacle for all the family complete with spectacular action, galloping horses, stunts, falls, awesome fire weapons and rock music that will leave you truly breathless.”

“2014 is a very special year for us as it’s our 10th season” explained Bridgnorth stuntman & leader of the Knights of the Damned Justin Pearson. “We’re introducing a new character, Knuckles, a hunch back, the Black Knight’s squire“ he continued. “The Black Knight will be more evil and dastardly than ever, assisted by his new accomplice”

As well as the Knights of the Damned Jousting team, the children’s TV character Mike the Knight will be visiting for the first time, which will delight many children. They’re encouraged to come in fancy dress, which will be judged by Lord Hamilton, owner of Apley Farm Shop, at 2pm. In between participating in events throughout the day, Mike the Knight will be available to meet & be photographed with the children.

“This year we have a huge amount to entertain the family” explained Lord Gavin “As well as Mike the Knight & the Jousting, we also have Phil Gibbons’s Racing Lurchers, Ben Potter's Eagles & Vultures, a circus school, a sword fighting school, archery sessions and Scotty’s Donkeys as well as a craft village & stalls, along a medieval theme. We will also have a huge range of delicious food as you customers have come to expect from Apley Farm Shop”

The Fair takes place at Apley Farm Shop (TF11 9EF), on the A442 between Bridgnorth & Telford in Shropshire, running 10-5pm. Tickets are available online or on the day.
