2nd-3rd August weekend events at Blists Hill Victorian Town and Enginuity

Go along to Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge, Shropshire over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd August 2014 and take part in a variety of fun drop-in activities.

Activities include dipping fabulously colourful candles and building a wall with mini-bricks to discovering Morse Code and colouring in pictures of Victorian scenes. Sessions will take place from 10.15am-1pm and 1.30pm-4pm at the fascinating museum where life over 100 years ago is recreated.

Over at the Enginuity hands-on science and technology centre in nearby Coalbrookdale, join a Made in China drop-in workshop between 1.30am and 3.45pm to discover more about the fantastic inventions, science and technologies that have come from the East. Hands-on activities will include using craft materials such as tissue paper and brightly coloured card to make boats, kites and shadow puppets as well as the chance to have a go at printing. These activities will vary from-to-day and carry a small extra charge in addition to the museum entrance fee. There will also be a choice of family activities that are included in the admission charge, such as decorating paper bricks and adding them to the ‘Great Wall of Enginuity’, solving tangram puzzles and following a trail that takes in museum exhibits linked to the inventions of China.

Both museums are open 10am to 5pm; an Annual Passport Ticket allowing entry into these and the other eight Ironbridge Gorge Museums, valid for 12 months and unlimited return visits, costs £27.50 per adult, £21 for the 60 plus, £16.50 for students and children and £68 for a family of two adults and all their children aged up to 18 years in full time education (terms and conditions apply); under 5s free.
