From marshmallow catapults to camouflaged creepy crawlies... Summer family fun at Dudmaston

Local National Trust attraction, Dudmaston Estate, is inviting families to come and enjoy lots of fun activities with them over the school summer holidays.

Every Monday and Wednesday throughout the holidays Dudmaston will once again be running their very popular children’s activity days. Each week will see a different theme come to life, with activities seeing families track wild animals and learn how soldiers communicated during WWI. Trails take place in the gardens and craft activities are also be on offer.

Alongside this the property is running their daily ‘Great Garden Games’ trails which can either be downloaded from the property’s website www.nationaltrust.org.uk/dudmaston or purchased for a nominal fee from the Shepherds Hut information point located in the Orchard. If you haven’t yet signed up to the National Trust’s ‘50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾’, then this is a wonderful time to get involved.

Visitor Experience and Conservation Manager, Tessa Lovell said “With the play area, our ‘Great Garden Games’ trail and our Monday and Wednesday activity days we have a fantastic offer for families and have already welcomed hundreds of happy ‘trail blazers’ over the first two weeks of the holidays. The trails and activities this year are fantastic. Today we had children creating marshmallow catapults and making volcanoes erupt on the Super Science trail! Next week we’ve got a trail called ‘The curious case of the camouflaged creepy crawlies’! I can’t wait to see what tasks will be involved in this one!”

The forecast is for this wonderful weather to continue, so brush off your picnic blanket, get out the sun cream and get down to Dudmaston for a fantastic day out.
