Shropshire's newest Falconry Centre acquires its first "adoptee" (11th September 2014)

Shropshire's newest Falconry Centre acquires its first

Shropshire's newest Falconry Centre has already added to its number having acquired its first "adoptee". The British Ironwork Centre, in Oswestry, was approached by the owners of a beautiful red tailed buzzard, for which a new home was desperately being sought.

The Centre had been recommended by the Falconry at Walford and North Shropshire College who were unable to offer assistance to the bird’s owners who were forced to relocate due to ill health.

The British Ironwork Centre team will be working with AC Falconry, who have established their base at the stunning Aston site, to return the buzzard to its flight weight and enable it to take part in the exciting programme of educational events and demonstrations planned.

Clive Knowles, Chairman of the British Ironwork Centre, said “We were honoured to receive the recommendation from Walford College and delighted to be able to help provide a new home for the buzzard – she will certainly be receiving expert care and attention from the experienced AC Falconry team.”

“We hope that she will soon be taking flight across the Centre’s grounds and taking part in our events programme!”
