Only for the brave...Ghostly Gaslight at Blists Hill Victorian Town

Dress up in your most scary costume and go along to the Ghostly Gaslight Halloween event at Blists Hill Victorian Town on Saturday evening, 25th October 2014 when the streets, shops and houses will be transformed into eerie places filled with ghosts, ghouls and monsters. The buildings will be illuminated in spectacular style and fireworks and pyrotechnic effects will light the night sky.

One of Shropshire’s biggest Halloween events, Ghostly Gaslight will keep all ages guessing what spooky encounter they might meet next – will it be the wicked wizard casting spells, the local carpenter seeking victims to nail in his coffin, ghostly apparitions in the cottages’ windows or zombies looking for brains.

Amazing light and sound effects will change the town’s peaceful streets into shadowy walkways where ghostly characters lurk, while many of the historic monuments and buildings will be illuminated with vivid colours and frightening effects. A family firework show in front of the old Brick and Tile works and pyrotechnic displays around the Town will also create dramatic scenes.

This popular fun and safe family event will start at 6pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance either online or from any of the Ironbridge Gorge Museums.

Prices have been held from last year at £9.50 adults, £6.25 children aged 3-15 years and £29 for a family of two adults and two children. A joint family ticket for Ghostly Gaslight and the Fireworks Night on 1st November is just £52 (2 adults and 2 children). Tickets must be purchased in advance from any of the Ironbridge Gorge Museums or the Ironbridge Visitor Information Centre. They can also be bought over the telephone on 01952 433 424 and posted to you at an additional charge of £2 per order.

Visitors are advised to park at the Ironbridge Park and Ride, located at the top of Jiggers Bank (TF43QE) where a regular bus service will take them to the event for a small fee. Limited parking is available at Blists Hill Victorian Town.

All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult, tickets will not be available on the gate; Ironbridge Gorge Museum Passports are not valid for this evening and dogs will not be allowed. More details can be found on www.ironbridge.org.uk.
