The award winning Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre has a packed programme of adult courses for 2015 for you to learn a skill and even explore the outdoors.
Laura Harvey, Learning Development Officer at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre said ‘The Discovery Centre offers such a diverse range of opportunities for people to learn and discover whether it’s to rekindle an interest, discover a hidden talent or simply get inspired to be creative - we have the course for you. We will be launching our adult course programme this Saturday 31st January, starting with a coppicing course in the Onny Meadows, followed by a Willow Day 7th February where you will learn to make willow decorations for home or garden. Moving into the spring we are running a ‘Spring Greens’ session to explore the offerings of the Onny Meadows . The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre recently won the accolade ‘Best Family Day Out – small venue’ it offers an extensive adult course programme and a variety of activities for the whole family. The unique grass roofed building houses a replica of the famous mammoth skeleton found in Shropshire. The café serves delicious home-cooked food and an extensive shop selling a range of quirky gifts. Every half term and summer holiday the visitor attraction provides hands-on family activities. Toddlers aren’t left out either, each Tuesday activities specifically aimed at younger children encourage them to explore nature and get creative.
