Whitsun holiday fun at Dudmaston (18th May 2015)

Whitsun holiday fun at Dudmaston

Bank Holiday Monday 25 & Wednesday 27th May, 12:00-5:30pm Image shows: Some of our cuddly bugs hiding out in our Auricula Theatre

Looking for adventures this school holiday? Venture down to Dudmaston, a National Trust property near Bridgnorth, and help solve the clues on our ‘Curious case of the camouflaged creepy crawlies’ trail. Follow the trail to help Inspector Magpie identify all the bugs and beasties that have made Dudmaston garden their home. These bugs are the master of disguise so it will not be an easy task! Be inspired by the insects that you encounter and make your own cuddly bug or beastie to take home with you.

Events and Marketing Officer, Caroline Norcott, said “We have lots of bugs and beasties hiding in our flower beds and borders at Dudmaston. The gardener’s have employed Inspector Magpie to help identify them all and see which ones are good and which bad for the plants but he can’t do it on his own and we are not brave enough to help him! Some of the insects are really good for the garden and we are enjoying making some crafty, cuddly ones to show that. We have been quite inventive making bees, spiders and even the odd caterpillar. We are really looking forward to seeing what our younger visitors create.”

There are plenty of other things for people to enjoy including a new art exhibition, ‘Unheard Voices’ in the Galleries, which provides visitors with a special moment of peace and reflection.

Normal admission charge applies with a small additional charge for crafts and trails.
