Ron Haslam Race School backs new Llangollen Bike Show (26th May 2015)

Ron Haslam Race School backs new Llangollen Bike Show

Track experience prizes donated for Wales Air Ambulance raffle The Honda Ron Haslam Race School (left) has donated track experiences worth hundreds of pounds for a raffle in aid of Wales Air Ambulance at the Llangollen International Motorcycle Festival - LlanBikeFest 15 ( - on August 1st and 2nd.

The top prizes are a Premier Experience at Donnington Park circuit, with intensive tuition on a Honda CBR600RR, plus an On Track Experience on smaller bikes, which is open to riders aged 12 upwards.

All of the raffle proceeds will go to the Wales Air Ambulance, which LlanBikeFest has adopted has adopted as its official charity.

Show organiser Harry Edwards said: “Like many riders, I owe my life to an air ambulance after I crashed at a supermoto event in Cumbria a few years ago. They do a fantastic job and we are hoping to raise thousands of pounds to support them.

The show will be opened on Saturday, August 1st by seven-times TT winner Mick Grant and Carl ‘Foggy’ Fogarty MBE, the most successful World Superbike (WSB) racer of all time.

On Sunday, August 2nd, more than 100 classic trials machines will compete in a stage of the Northern British Bike Pre-65 Trials Championship (NBBC). All of the bikes are at least 50 years old and will be ridden on the Llangollen Pavilion show site from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm, as part of a championship round hosted by Llangollen and District Motorcycle Club.

The Llangollen site has previously hosted successful bike shows – the last in 2011 – but LlanBikeFest 15 is being organised by a new team of local motorcycle enthusiasts, led by Harry.

The Llangollen International Motorcycle Festival is set amid some of Britain’s best biking roads - at the foot of the Horseshoe Pass and its famously bike-friendly Ponderosa Café, and on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park.

On-site attractions will include displays, stunts, demonstrations, trade and club stands, plus beer, bands and evening entertainment. There will also be ride-outs from the site to explore some of the area’s most beautiful roads and scenery.
