Slow Food Breakfast for 100 people celebrating local bangers and bacon (18th January 2016)

Slow Food Breakfast for 100 people celebrating local bangers and bacon

This year Slow Food’s favourite fun food event is being organised jointly with the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre at Craven Arms, to coincide with the beginning of British Farmhouse Breakfast Week on Sunday 24th January. It is a natural fit for Slow Food to work with Grow Cook Learn, the charity running the Discovery Centre in its endeavours to deliver the Grow Cook Learn vision to connect people to the food, history and landscape of the Shropshire Hills.

Tickets for the breakfast are now available on a first come first served basis for 100 people, tickets still available from the Discovery Centre, to book please call 01588 676060. Tickets are priced at £7 per adult, £4 per child (up to 12yrs old) choose from two sittings: 9.30am or 10.30am

Sue Chantler, Chair of the group says, ‘Ludlow and the Marches is blessed with fantastic quality meat that is still reared traditionally on relatively small scale and it’s all available locally from our excellent butchers, farm shops and farmers’ markets. You will also be treated to the Onny Fritter, created by the catering team at the Discovery Centre especially for the event. This is a popular event that is booked up in just a couple of days as soon as the tickets become available.’

Catherine Collier, Marketing and Development Manager at the Discovery Centre said ‘We are working with lots of organisations who share our vision, especially our commitment to producing healthy home-cooked delicious food in our café and supporting local food producers, working in partnership with the Slow Food movement helps spread the word and gives our breakfast guests a taster of what we offer here at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre’.
