Dudmaston opens its gates for a brand new season (16th March 2016)

Dudmaston opens its gates for a brand new season

Discover the beauty of the Estate as it wakes up for spring. Dudmaston welcomes visitors to the Galleries, garden, park, tearoom, and shop from Sunday, 20 March.

Spring has finally sprung at Dudmaston, a local National Trust property near Bridgnorth. Patches of daffodils are brightening up the garden, and from Sunday, 20 March the property’s gates will be opened for visitors for the 2016 season.

Enjoy a stroll in the beautiful orchard and spring garden, before relaxing with a cuppa in the tearooms. Discover the brand new exhibits in Gallery 2. Everyday objects, owned by the people who lived at Dudmaston in the past, tell their stories and illustrate the timeline of the Estate’s history, right back to1127.

Tessa Lovell, Visitor Experience & Conservation Manager said: “Spring is a time for making new discoveries at Dudmaston. As you’d expect we get asked lots of questions about the Estate, and many are about the history of the buildings and the people who used to live here. We don’t always know the answers so we have been, and still are, on a voyage of discovery.”

“Researching items from our collection for the new Gallery 2 display has taught us loads about the past inhabitants of the Hall and we are now turning our attention to the buildings, embarking on a search for the Tudor house which stood before the one you see here today. We hope visitors will enjoy joining us on this journey.”

The Hall’s family rooms will re-open on Easter Sunday, 27 March. Please visit our website for opening and event times.
