Our county town has recently been voted the 8th ‘Happiest Place to Live in the UK’ from more than 200 towns and cities throughout the country. A range of factors were taken into consideration for the vote, including community spirit, access to sports and arts facilities, and opportunities for residents to better themselves.
The only West Midlands town to feature, Shrewsbury came top with the fact that ‘The people of the town are polite and friendly’.
This recent accolade adds to the long list of honours Shrewsbury is known for, including Britain in Bloom’s Champion of Champions and is said to have the healthiest high street in the country!
