Restaurant Re-launch Goes Down A Treat (1st June 2009)

The Royal Air Force Museum Cosford, in conjunction with Aramark Catering, has officially re-launched its restaurant and menus with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Museums Visitor Centre.

Catering for Cosford visitors has been transformed with a new range of healthy and satisfying menus including, for the health conscious, a fresh salad bar and seasonal daily specials. The restaurant will offer a range of affordable hot savouries including for the first time a traditional hot roast bap of the day, whilst more adventurous tastes will be catered for with a new range of tantalising and filling hot paninis. 

As part of the redesign, members of the public were invited to suggest a new name for the restaurant.  After over 470 suggestions were received and much debate ensued between the panel, 'Refuel' was selected as the winning name.

James Nolan, age 10, from the Wirral, who suggested the winning name, today officially opened the restaurant and cut the ribbon.  James will now enjoy a free meal for four, for himself and his family, at the Museum's Cosford restaurant every time he visits the Museum during the remainder of 2009. In addition to this he also received an added bonus - £100 worth of goodies, of his choice, from the Museum's shop.

The restaurant was redesigned by Aramark Catering who invested a substantial sum to offer visitors a more comfortable and relaxing environment in which to enjoy time well spent with friends and family whilst at the Museum.

Stewart McCulloch of Aramark says, "We are delighted to be working with the Royal Air Force Museum on this exciting refurbishment of its restaurant and look forward to welcoming our existing and new customers to this new facility and its new menus".

Alex Medhurst, RAF Museum General Manager says, "We are really pleased with the new layout and feel that this will offer an improved catering service to our visitors".
